How to make a wind spinner

Hello!


Today I will teach you how to crochet an wind spinner. It's an easy scrap yarn project and can be a cute decorations for Christmas, 4th July, Halloween or Easter.


Absolutely LOVE this project! The stitches and pattern are beginner friendly and the Color combinations are endless. I cannot Wait to try it with different weighted yarns as well. The possibilities are endless here for projects and gifts!!!

You can use any yarn and any suitable hook for your yarn.

You can make the yarn spinners as long as you want. For example in the above picture, for the left one I crocheted 30 chains and it's have approximately 18 cm. For the right one I crocheted 70 chains and it's have approximately 38 cm.


For UK terms please follow (...) from instructions.


Foundation row : make a chain any number you wish.


Row 1 : do a single crochet SC ( UK - double crochet DC ) in each stitch along the foundation row till the end. Cut and tie off, leave some yarn for the tail.


Row 2 : Starting at the same side as row 1 started, join yarn in first stitch and do a single crochet SC ( UK - double crochet DC ).

For the next stitches, crochet 2 double crochet DC ( UK - 2 treble TR ) into each stitch until the end of row. Cut and tie off, leave some yarn for the tail.


Row 3: Starting at the same side as row 2 started, join yarn in first stitch and do a single crochet SC ( UK - double crochet DC ).

For the next stitches, do 3 double crochet DC ( UK - 3 treble TR ) into each stitch until the end of row. Cut and tie off, leave some yarn for the tail.


Row 4 : Starting at the same side as row 3 started, join yarn in first stitch and do a single crochet SC ( UK - double crochet DC ) .

For the next stitches, do a single crochet SC ( UK - double crochet DC ) in each stitch until the end of row. Cut and tie off, leave some yarn for the tail.


Knot all the tails at the bottom and leave them loose to hang in the wind. You can add weight to the bottom tail like beads, tassel, pom-pom or bell.


Hang up your new wind spinner in the garden or in the balcony and enjoy.
